There are several different types of polyester tape. These tapes are ideal for many applications and are available in various thicknesses. The most commonly used type is a polyester tape, which comes with a silicone adhesive on both sides. This tape has excellent adhesion properties to low surface energy materials and is excellent for splicing, powder coat paint masking, and many other applications. For silicone applications, polyester tape is an excellent choice.
Polyester film tape is often used in packaging because it provides electrical insulation, high-temperature resistance, and scratch resistance. It is also available in a variety of colors. This type of tape can be used to protect against UV light and contaminates and has a high cross-web consistency. It is ideal for applications involving electrical or electronic wiring, electrical relays, and other high-temperature components. However, it should not be confused with polyimide tape, which is made of polyimide film.
Another type of polyester tape is metalized. This type of tape features a metallic coating on one side that gives it a brilliant mirror finish. Metalized polyester tape is commonly used in automotive and industrial trim, as well as decorative applications. It also has excellent resistance to plasticizers. Lastly, it is suitable for use in photo sensing applications.
If you need to use tape for powder coating, the high-temperature polyester tape is an excellent choice.
