Polyester Masking Tape For High-Temperature Finishing Applications

Apr 25, 2022

Polyester masking tape is an excellent choice for painting and other high-temperature finishing applications. It's ideal for keeping coatings off mating surfaces, threads, and non-coating surfaces, high-temperature masking tape is perfect for heat transfer and sublimation work. In fact, it's the only masking tape made specifically for these purposes.

When choosing a masking tape, consider the temperature range and adhesion properties. The adhesive properties of polyester masking tape vary greatly depending on its thickness. For example, rubber-based tapes have the lowest adhesion at sub-zero temperatures, while acrylic-based tapes are the thickest and offer the greatest temperature range. Silicone-based tapes are the most flexible, and some of these are chemical-resistant.

The high-temperature-resistant version of polyester masking tape is the most common option for powder coating applications. Because the majority of powder coating applications involve water,   In addition, they have a silicone adhesive, which allows them to withstand higher temperatures without residue. The adhesive also comes off easily, leaving no residue behind.

Polyester high-temperature tape is a premium product that cannot be compared to the inferior imported varieties. This high-temperature masking tape is ideal for powder coating, paint spraying, and electroplating, and is widely available in transparent shiny green. It also has numerous hobby uses, including splicing. These products are also used in the manufacturing process. The polyester high-temperature tape is made of a thick, durable material and a silicone adhesive for optimal bonding.

Another application for polyester masking tape is in electronics. In electronics, it's useful for resisting molten solder. Similarly, it's ideal for sandblasting, powder coating, and glass-coating. Polyimide film is resistant to molten solder, which makes it ideal for electronics applications.
